DESCRIPTION:
SEE SPECIAL SHIPPING NOTE at end of description (NO IN-HOUSE SHIPPING). Antique long guns - E. Remington & Sons of Ilion, NY, Percussion revolving rifle, circa 1867, .36 caliber, nickel swirled trigger guard with comfortable finger rests, unmarked smooth cylinder with integrated ram rod, steel reviver with cut V notch sight, blued steel hammer, blued steel tang, American walnut stock with nickel crescent moon butt plate, 24.5 inch octagonal barrel, barrel top is marked "E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION. N.Y." with serial number stamped on bottom barrel flat just before ramrod tip, s#157. A fabulous piece of not only Remington history but of revolver history in general, designed and put into production a bit to late to catch on with the adoption of metallic cartridges and conversions of these earlier models. They just weren't good enough to compete with the more useful Winchester lever repeaters being released, and as such Remington killed them off. Very seldomly do Remington revolving rifles come up for auction so don't miss out on this fantastic example. Rifle measures 43.25 inches in length and weighs approximately 7 pounds, includes soft protective gun case. NOTE: No in-house shipping available.
